A glove box is a piece of laboratory equipment that creates a stable, inert atmosphere (nitrogen or argon), sealed environment for handling oxygen or moisture sensitive materials. Samples can be transferred into the glove box via the glove box antechamber, and glove box gloves can be used to manipulate the contents of the glove box. The samples we use, such as mercaptans, are usually air sensitive, so we often prepare self-assembled monolayers in the glove box. |
